PAYE is a Tax on employees whose monthly income is above Kshs 24,000 per month at the prevailing rates and remitted to KRA by employers, on or before the 9th of the following month. It applies to both Residents and Non-Residents.

Late filing of PAYE attracts a penalty of 25% of the tax due, or Kshs 10,000, whichever is higher, whilst late payment attracts a penalty of 5% of the tax due and an interest of 1% per month.
